The Independence Historic Preservation Division is pleased to announce the return of our annual fall historic architecture walking tours offered on second Saturdays in September, October, and November. Tours run one hour and are free to the public. Meet on the north side of the Truman Jackson County Courthouse on the Independence Square starting at 10 AM.

This year’s tours include “Early Mormon Settlers in Independence” on September 14, “A Look Inside the George Wallace and Noland Homes” on October 12, and “The Gunfight on the Independence Square” on November 9.

Walking tour routes will be less than one mile, however, good walking shoes are recommended.

Tours are held rain or shine.
